Question 2: Should I choose a house base on my favourable direction?
 
Question 3: My favourable direction is North East, if I buy my new house this facing can?
 
These are the most common/recent questions I received when one is looking for a house. Incidentally, such thoughts echo that of an investor when choosing a property (remember “location, location and location”?) but this goes like “direction, direction and direction“. So the question begs, what is it one has to look out for?
 
Strictly speaking, the areas to consider encompass:

• External surroundings
• Direction facing
• Layout
• Completion period

 
In a gist, we consider the external part of the property and the internal aspects of the property. As such, if you were to imagine buying based on direction only from a Feng Shui perspective, you may have begun to recognise the flaw.
 
With the best direction suitable for you, if the external part of house has negative location/surroundings, it would still contribute negative impact. This can come in the area of health, relationship or wealth to name the main areas.

There are decisions to be made and from my experience, to name a few that can happen:

• Poor layout of house causing bad flow of qi
• Poor facing (imagine sha qi or views from your main living room)
• Some houses are not suited to be occupied past a certain period (bear in mind due to period 8 is ending)
• External landscapes that activate negative luck to the house

  
So what can you do if you are facing a cross road on which property to choose?
One option really is to consider looking for a Feng Shui practitioner. He would be able to help evaluate the property choice you have made to your concern coming from a neutral

Prevention is always better than cure. This mantra applies to property as well where a better home that needs minimal cures is always better. Moreover, it is a small cost to the big investment you would be making to a home you would be staying for long.

Nonetheless, as a general guide, these are the areas to consider while you are choosing your home:

• Look out and avoid sharp pointy areas from external surrounding
• Avoid fast flowing/movements (think major busy roads/water features)
• Odd shape designs (think irregular shape rooms with slanting sides)
• Observe the surrounding plants and aura if it is flourishing or dead

I received a request to read this birth date and this was a reading different from the usual as this belonged to a rather old lady and was with her family. As the birth chart is somewhat a good case study to show, I got permission to show a part of the reading done.

 Chart belongs to a lady born on 18 Jun 1927.
 

 














Born with a weak H10 癸 water day stem (circled in black) representing her. She is born in summer and a time where water is extremely weak. Usually for someone this weak, you do not want to see too much of wealth but…. here you see the person is born in a fire month (wealth element to her) and a fire rabbit year. In fact, there are no supporting elements other than possibly the H10 癸 water found in hour pillar – hour pillar was a second guess as we do not have the hour of birth.

In short, imagine this water is like that droplet of water in a hot hot summer burning..
Now we examine some snippets of the reading

Early Life (circled in green)

• Lady has not much fate with her mum from birth. (Note no metal found in chart and is weakest during summer)
• Confirmed that she was actually given up for adoption early in life.
• This is usually 1 sign of little fate with mother.
• Lady also went through tough times (you can see more fire H4 丁and earth E8 未) which is something she does not wants to meet during age pillar 6. (circled in green)

  
Marriage (circled in red)

• Lady with this chart may actually not want to marry or without marriage luck given that she is weak and reject any marriage notion
• I had asked if she met her other half early in life possibly – noting the 16 year old pillar as highlighted on appearance of 戊 H5 earth which represents her spouse element and may possibly get married early.
• Was confirmed marriage took place during 17-18 years old. (It is possible and common during the 1940s era with the era taken into context)
• It can be seen marriage would likely not be happy given the weak chart and that her husband would call the shots.
• I had queried if life was better at mid 50s and anything happened at mid 60s.. Person’s husband passed away during mid 60s.
• How do you tell? Note the 丑that clash with 未. It is obvious something happened during this period where the husband is clashed away.

Wealth (in silver circle)
Since she has very strong wealth wealth element (note her chart is loaded with wealth Fire 丙午丁 element in the Month and Year pillar), so what does this means?

• Went through her early stage with minimal privileges due to family environment and later adopted.
• Importantly, she has a “surrounded by wealth but not hers” case. How?
• Over time after marriage, the family was not exactly poor however, none of the wealth belonged to hers (under husband).
• It was confirmed that unfortunately, when her husband passed on, no wealth was passed on to her but all to their children. It maybe debatable if wealth passed on to her as there lies the question if she can control her wealth.

 
Conclusion:
It is a good case study to show more wealth in your chart does not meant you having it contrary to most may think the more the merrier.
 
Side note:
Should she have been born at snake hour (9am-11am), there would have been a “Follow the Wealth” structure where there would be immense wealth in her life. However, it was not as the hour of birth played the difference.
