What is your talent?

Not too long ago, a group of good friends had a gathering and the below palatable table of mouth watery food was made by our host. 

Besides the food that was excellent, everyone had awesome time. Good food and great company, the magic formula. 













But behind all these, I wonder how does one enjoy creating and putting up such a great galore of dishes?
 
Putting my bazi thinking cap, I reach a conclusion that someone with such interest to be of someone likely with good quality output stars. You would typically find this in the Ten Profiles (十神) under profiles such as “The Artist” (食神) or “Hurting Officer” (伤官). Gordon Ramsay has a Hurting Officer in his chart, the late Steve Jobs also has the Artist star in his profile.
 
A person with such star(s) will typically enjoy various creation – from inventing, creating such as chef, artist, or a role that requires strategizing and ideas.  Notice the similarity from these indicated profession, it is the ability to create and having ideas. 
 
Now the key aspect, you think.. how does that translate into our career advancement and plans? If one would want to look at what kind of role, function and to some extent, the organisation that you are best suited to work for, this is the starting point.

In other words, if you are someone whom has good output stars as above could be someone suitable to work in strategizing, marketing, creating and designing jobs. (The different kind of stars in your chart actually will depict what kind of roles you would enjoy or be suitable for.)
 
 A familiar perfect example of job frustration:
You are someone with strong output stars but stuck in an operational role with many routines and little freedom to express your creativity. Yet, you wonder what was wrong and you just hate your job!
 
With the longevity requirement for us to work longer into our retirement age and pace of change, we would also tend to change our career path than our previous generation. It is no wonder the government is also having Skills Futures credit of $500 for us to learn a second skill.
 
As such, a good understanding of your own chart can harness and uncover your hidden or not so obvious traits and strengths that you possess. Knowledge is power and certainly leveraging on these will give you the edge.
